Our Forever Family

Four years ago today we adopted Sir "C" and Lady "M". This was a life changing moment for our family. All the classes in the world could not have completely prepared us for our new journey. This journey has led our family closer to God as it takes Him and His grace to get us through each day. Our lives are forever changed as God put together this forever family. We love these two children with all of our hearts.

This is the first picture of our Forever Family after all the papers were signed.

Every mom needs one of these at home

No more arguments. When your little ones start giving you problems. Just suit them up.

Toss them up on the wall and give them a little time to think.

Then when they decide they want to finally listen to you leave them there for a another five minutes for good measure.

Then when they are promising you the moon, finally let them down. But remind them what will happen next time they act up.

All kidding aside. Our town had a festival and the kids had a blast with this. The little ones were giggling so hard when they were tossed up and the older two enjoyed jumping up to see how high they could get.

Sense and Sensibility Patterns

I came across some information this evening that excites me very much. Sense and Sensibility is a pattern company that specializes in historic time period patterns.

The exciting thing is they are converting all their patterns to ePatterns.

I myself have been drooling over the regency patterns for several years.

If I had to pick my favorite I would have to say the girls regency dress ePattern would take the top honors.

I would love to make the girls dresses for the holidays.

Now that these patterns are downloadable I have a greater chance of accomplishing this goal.

If you have never visited the Sense and Sensibility website I encourage you to visit today.

Learning How to Bend

Ya know I try to keep it real on this blog. I don't pretend my life is perfect, my marriage is perfect or my kids are perfect. I try to keep a balanced approach to my blog. A little of this and a little of that.

This song, while not a Christian song, has really been on my mind lately. I feel like it describes me really well. I am still learning. Learning to be a better Christian, wife and mother. I have issues. I am sure those who know me choked on this revelation, but it is true. I have a hard time trusting people. I have been burned by family, friends and men alike.

I mentioned in another post about how if you date a lot you give away pieces of your heart and never get them back. This is still true. Plus in addition to no longer having a whole heart, you know are carrying around baggage from a failed relationship.

Me, I carry the luggage department from Foley's around. Not just from men though, not all the guys I dated were bad- they just weren't for me. Some of the baggage is from friendship betrayals and some of the heaviest baggage is from my childhood. Finding out I was adopted was devastating. It made a huge impact on my relationship with my dad and that relationship is still being repaired- Praise the Lord!

Anyway, this song sums up how I feel about God and my sweet husband who is so terribly patient with me and my issues. Forget the video. It is insignificant and I actually haven't even watched the whole thing. This is just about the song itself.

Thanks 'N' Giving Fall Swap

I participated in this swap put together by Susan over at Simply Susan and wanted to share the goodies that I got from my swap partner, Natalie.

Natalie sent me a book by her favorite author (you know I will be reviewing that one), a cute notepad and lots of great autumn scrapbooking supplies. I already have the notepad sitting on my desk. The scrapbooking supplies are put away properly in my completely clean multi-purpose room just waiting for me to sit in there and put some pages together.

Thank you Natalie for being so thoughtful and thanks to Susan for putting this swap together in the first place.
